You may not need a licence for your boat though if…

  1. You have a bricks and mortar home and you have a television license for that home and there is no one watching television simultaneously at both addresses. So, if your house is empty when you are cruising, you’re OK. However, if you rent your house out, or you have other family members living at the address, you will need an additional license for your boat.
That law is getting awfully close to ´each individual person has to have a license ‘….typical bbc overreach

Here's a You Tube rabbit hole to go down ..

One of the justifications I hear from pro licence people is the quality of BBC product like Attenborough etc. What they don't realise is that these are produced by BBC Studios who receive no public funding and indeed return profits to the BBC purse.

The wording on the TVL website is slightly different from the above!

I didn't know that so-called TV detector vans still exist.
I don't think TV detector vans have ever existed. The BBC have access to suppliers of all sorts of vehicles and props. It wouldn't be much of a challenge to create a fake TV detector van for publicity purposes.

I think the video in post #11 is pretty conclusive on the subject.

Even my WiFi SSID is tongue in cheek as I also have an external antenna to cover the garden which is easily visible to several neighbours :ROFLMAO:

Maybe Seastoke can get a fix on that when he comes round in his van?

They did work, and now they don't.

Assuming an LCD/OLED TV:
Your cable provider could release your channel viewing stats. Which is never going to happen.
Freeview - no way I am aware of, unless you let the CapitaGoons in.
