Have to confess: SWMBO and the kids took them down on Monday when I was down at the boat, doing a few odd jobs.

However, in my defence, I cooked Christmas Dinner (I do all the cooking at weekends and holidays) and acted as an unpaid taxi service for the jhr family Xmas 2004 "Meet the Rellos" Tour. I also agreed to the reintroduction of a cat into the household, in response to a merciless 6-month propaganda war, waged by my daughter. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Actually it was the cats that started to take them down on Sunday, pulling curiously at the tinsel on the tree and walking along the mantelpiece batting the cards off, so we thought it was about time.

Kids did it yesterday. Just left me with the job of releasing the backstay and felling the jaggy bugger into the middle of the room.
It all seems such a waste really. Two men, a chainsaw, a tractor and a trailer, a bottle of Scotch, all so that I end up with an inch of needles on the floor and a 12 foot tree to drag out of the house two weeks later.
It would be nice to get a letter from the Forestry thanking me for thinning the plantation, but I suppose they're too busy at this time of year. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
