To Doyle Sails (Shamrock Quay). Blatant endorsement here!

Ordered Asymetric Kite and snuffer on 5th July, picked them up TODAY! Not bad at all as they has to get the cloth in (because of the colours).
Conclusion.
Perfect! We've just being out playing with it and it seems to work very very well indeed. Good shape, "snuffs" very well, good speed, and we (in light airs) can get suprisingly close to the wind. the main reason for the change from the old Tri Radial Simmy was to be able to fly a "downwind sail" with just the two of us without the hastle of that 'orrible (and painfull) pole, as thats a great success also. Claire's comment was, "its soooo easy" (she is foredeck girl).

And you won't miss it, its Purple and PINK!

Neraida is 8.5m overall, but a fairly hefty rig for her size. The kite however is "dinky" by comparison at 34sq M. and including "Mr Snuffy" was just shy of 900 squid.

Yessum, as we are "out of class" anyway (FC8's are only "allowed" proper kites). It's going to be ideal for crashing round the cans as its so quick to deploy and recover.

How did you get on in the RSYC race last night, heard your name on the entry list but haven't seen any results, did the new sail work?

Missed the race /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Blummin work I'm afraid... Going cruising this weekend, so I will report back on any loony speeds if we get enough wind!

I'd be interested to know what technique you find best for snuffling.

So far we have tried blanking it with the main, pulling on the snuffler halyard and more recently disconnecting the tack to de-power then snuffling.

Any tips / hints would be greatly appreciated.

Works best for me in case of min. 2 memebers:

Walk to foredeck and make ready to pull the condom. Girl at tiller release the sheet, pull down Snuffler almost at the same time. While same tiller person continues sailing (including possible rol out of jib), the stripped kite will be lowered through the forehatch and left inside.....
