Has anyone got the key for this cold north wind?

If they have, can they switch it off please?

I'm trying to get from Harwich to Southwold and would prefer not to do it survival conditions.

It goes back into the bloody East at the weekend - perfectly timed to be a pain in the 'arris 'cos, if the forecasts are anything to go by, I reckon I'll have 16 knots of breeze right in my visog when I'm on stage at the Fambridge River Festival next Sunday afternoon

What is going on with the wind this year? It's been almost constant Easterlies or Northerlies and ruddy chilly at that. Flippin' prevailing wind is supposed to be Sou'westerly which is why I cunningly chose a berth that is only exposed to the East :ambivalence:

There's a couple still here and a couple that headed back on Sunday afternoon. Pontoon party? I can hardly keep traction standing on the pontoon when the gusts are up. Good job it's almost June.

an ill wind...

Northerlies have whisked us along the south coast ready for a jump off to Cherbourg and then round to Guernsey. Bit chilly but I had worried we'd be beating into SWlies all the way.

All the best from Poole Harbour...

I am joining a friend of mine somewhere on the North shore of the Ijsselmmer tomorrow. The aim is the southern tip of Norway. As far as I can see, it it northeasterlies and northerlies for the next week. Just my luck.

Stuck in Ramsgate, left MYC 04.30 on Saturday with my daughter heading for the Orwell......after about 20 mins out from Garrison Point banging wind over tide toward the Blacktail Spit it became apparent the only sensible option was to turn right!

The harbour is full of storm bound boats including some from Benfleet Yacht Club who appear to have gone home on the train.

Lifeboat has been out a few times too. Am considering relocating much further south tonight....

2 boats up the pontoon Sailorman.

I'm up early today googling cheap marinas near airports in hot countries...

It is horrible out there, had a lovely river sail on sunday then fled back to OYC on Monday morning after my freshly cleaned and 'serviced' genoa lost most of its sacrificial strip, it appears the thread was more sacrificial than the strip. GRRRRRRRR. Did you have a good time over there Roger? I saw Jolie Brise in fox's on Monday am adorned with flags, I didn't know that was your boat, I have often admired it as I pull and pull the outboard starter rope........
