Has anyone gone from Croatia to Slovenia?

Will be collecting our new boat from Croatia next week but no one wants to run a truck into Croatia so we took the opportunity of a week boating in the the Adriatic.

Only issue is I was so concerned about the boat and financial side that I am guilty of taking my eye off the actual journey. I think I am catching up with my insurance in place, SSR sorted out, de-registration of the boat from the Slovenian register, T2L ordered, Ships radio License amended, VAT status checked etc.

I have now found that I need a vigette which apparently I can get from the Harbour Master, does anyone know how much this costs. From what I can see for an F43 it appears to be around £125 a year however another site is showing it around £750a year. I only need it for a week, can I get one for a week or do I have to pay the annual fee?

Have charts at 1.220 000 but to be honest they are too small scale, have the Imray Pilot book which is useful and have Navionics covering the area on three i-phones and two I-pads so think I have the nav covered.

Now I am into the official stuff with taking possession of a boat in Croatia that is currently in Biograd I am guessing that this will become my port of entry? I take it i present my Crew list here and show passports. What then happens about exit? do I just pull into a port in the north of Croatia and register leaving or do I have to contact Biograd and tell them. If the first is there a good port for this?

If I escape Croatia successfully what do I do about getting into Slovenia? I will be pulling the boat out at Koper, can I just go straight there and use Koper as a port of entry? do I even need a point of entry? As I will then be leaving by road to Italy how do I go about a port of exit?

Guess I should have thought about this earlier but any help appreciated.

you have the right papers thats good, (SSR, Insurance and VAT doc)
right before you sail out, you go to the local harbour master, and pasports of all on board,
there you make a passenger list, and buy a vignet, you can have one for a week or a month iirc,
don't remember/have the prices on hand, but not to worry about !

at any decent local book store, you can buy the 777 or 999 harbours and bay's,
not expensive and VERY usefull, even for a week sailing !
that in combination with a Ipad chart, .. will do

when you are in the last Croatian herbour, right before entering Slovenia, you must check out,
go to the local harbourmaster, make a new passenger list, and then pass along police and customs,
harbour master will guyde you...
in that Pilot 777 or 999 is indicated where the harbourmasters office is located.

I'm not sure if you need to checkin in slovenia in the first harbour that you come in,
i don't know if it is a obligation, believe not, but you could asc locally...

don't know that specific area, can't give more advice about that region
We 've spend many years in Dubrovnic area, now I'm in Montenegro and pass the border with Croatia many many times.

what boat did you buy there ?
why don't you stay longer ? really worth it !!!

The boat is a Sealine F43 and you are certainly not the first to say why are you bringing it back, it seems anyone who has cruised in the area rates it as some of the best cruising grounds anywhere. Unfortunately I am a wage slave so only get 28 days holiday (inc bank holidays) and weekends, I would not be able to get any use out of the boat if it were in Croatia and when I did get there I would have to spend all the time on Maintenance.
