Has anyone found a genuinely non kink hosepipe

The innards of those Hozelock hoses are excellent for fitting to the dehumidifier as a drain hose. So when it fails cut a few metres of the inner pipe and put it in the “that’ll come in handy one day” bag.

Which is what happens when you turn off the supplied spray nozzle.

One hose split the inner and was leaking inside the outer skin, the other split at the tap connector end.

I did repair them but soon leaked again.

I used to use it to top up water tanks but I use inline 10u and 1u filters before the tank and a tap filter at the galley for drinking water.
Mine sprung a leak at one end whilst using it at Universal Marina where the pressure is high.

I took it home and repaired it with an alternative fitting, its been fine ever since

Getting back to the OP, in thirty years I have NEVER found a hose that will not kink if not unwound/wound correctly.

Last 17 years we used a flat hose. For two reasons, takes up less space, second, if unwould by afixxing one end to the tap and carefully unwinding as you walk away, it lays flat and does not kink. Once water is flowing it tends to stay round. Heard rumours of premature leaks, never found it to be so until it was VERY old.

When re-winding, I held the end high so the internal water ran out while winding up. Dont want stale water going 'off' inside the hose.

Are they OK for potable water?
It would be hard for water to pick much up when flowing quickly through a hose. It matters for pipes on board where water may sit for a while but not at all for hoses to fill tanks if you flush them through before starting.
Keeping it clean is far more important. We use a male/male hoselock connector to keep our hose sealed when not in use.

I also use a flat hose. It rarely kinks as it is laid out from its reel along the ground its whole length between tap and boat. Storage space is small. Search on line as costs vary significantly from about £20 through to £70 for the same product. Do not buy from a chandlers, guaranteed to be high price.

£20 lay flat and £75 lay flat

I would recommend a lay flat hose to reduce the probability of kinks.

Thats the thing with the expanding ones, you don’t coil them we chuck ours in a bucket. Just like not coiling your halyards and sheets, particularly on a race boat where they may have to run free at any instant. Those too need to be flaked into a flex tub or some such if they need to be contained.

I have found that 'standard' hose is just not thick and strong enough to avoid kinks. I once splashed out and bought some relatively expensive (twice the price?) higher quality 'heavy duty' hose as a present for my ex, an avid gardener, and was impressed by its durability, resistance to kinking and to pinhole leaks from being dragged over stones etc. It is also strong enough that it isn't damaged by being driven over on e.g. a road or drive. I later bought another reel's worth of the good stuff for boat use when my boat was parked ashore a huge distance from the nearest tap, needing a series of hoses to reach.

The good stuff I have is yellow (black inside IIRC), and rubbery in texture, as opposed to the plastic feel of standard hose. A good length reel of this is very heavy, but it has lasted years, and certainly much better than the standard hose I also have which is still in occasional use (often needed in series to achieve length) but so annoying to use because of numerous kinks that have developed and the need to cut out ends or sections that have developed leaks.

This good quality hose is far too heavy and bulky to keep on my smallish boat, and for cruising the boat has a couple of 'cassette' type reels of 'fold flat' hose - not very durable at all, but more practical afloat.
I thought this was about garden hose, what’s all this boat stuff🤔
