That's nothing to celebrate. It was much better in it's previous format. Just a little too lively for some...

But WHY?

That reminds me! I was a member during the old format, and after it went off line, did not rejoin until it had been back on line in this format for some months - by which time I could not discover just what the reason was it went off line (I recall some message saying "due to the activities of one person" or something like that). At the time I posted a question asking, but got no reply. Can anyone tell me now (assuming anyone knows that is) ?

Re: But WHY?

Yes one person or rather arshole persisted to impersonate quite a few regular bb members using not only their names but email address as well, it got so out of hand that the web master had no choice other than to close the bb untill they added the registration with password to log in.

I wondered why BrianJ took so much interest, Happy Birthday Brian.

Yes I too am a descendant from the old forum and also wondered why many disappeared. Much happier now with the new one, but miss the old leg pullers of the past, had many a good laugh. I tried out the opposition forum that is mentioned. Couldn't follow the format and frankly could not be bothered to try and work it out and then put up with all the "in crowd" and the mutual back scratching.

So! It's exactly the same here then. Regular posters know the regular posters and you have another clique situation, and as I only occasionally post here It's not that straight forward is it?

I think YBM get far too much stick over this forum, and put up with it very well. It's pretty free and easy considering the commercial interests at stake.

I notice Marian's forum server is still down, hopefully it was a good sailing weekend instead . . .
