Back to one of the original questions, I see in the advert a fuel / oil ratio of 20 - 25:1

Quite a high fuel ratio but for the amount of fuel you'll use, it's not eye-watering.
 
yes, and it works at that ratio. This suggests poor tolerances, do you think? Cost is a factor at 18 euros for a litre of 2 stroke oil, but I guess we won't use much.

Maybe tolerances. Probably not particularly accurate jetting (air / fuel mix) setting in the carb.

Even at 25:1, if your tender is only used from port to 'mother ship' stuff, you still wont use much. My litre of 2-stroke has lost its writing due to being so old. :D
