Hangkai 6hp outboard

Do you honestly think comparing the UK with India is reasonable in this context...… In the UK we have had open fires for years and they have and are no real problem

Looking at the size of your boat I was wondering how much its engines contribute to this clean air we all have a right to

You seem to get pleasure from the attention seeking of your often outrageous remarks across a range of threads.

Thats fine, but I am here to discuss in the main boats, not seek controversy. We are all different in life. You tend to disappear when challenged (the drone thread springs to mind).

If you wish to flaunt environmental legislation and take us back to the days of the London Smog ( London has been smokeless since the Clean Air act of 1956) then so be it, but don't expect to find many supporters. I have just come from India - the smoke from fires is very real.

As to my boat - it is no different from anyone else on here. They are all legal ( for now). Are any environmentally friendly no. How long will it last? Not long I suspect. London has a Low Emissions Zone coming in now and my 4 year old diesel car will be all but illegal in 2020, so it would be nieve to think that boats will not in due course be subject to legislation. The environmental lobby has already highlighted the impact of container vessels etc.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.

You seem to think that it is fine for you to make personal attacks but you expect me and others to bend to your will...… Well not so my friend I will do as I think fit.

You comment about London several times and this is one of the great issues in this regard. I live in the Country and have done so all my life. Country dwellers are fed up with city dwellers particularly those from the capital thinking they know best, are more intelligent and trying to dictate to those they consider have carrots in their ears...…..

It is clear you don't like me and I have little time for you so enjoy your boat and carry on polluting and spouting off how wonderful you are

So did you buy one? Did it go bang and sink without trace on the first outing or is it still going strong?
Still Selling on Ebay so someone must be buying them!
Cheers.

I have a 6hp Hangkai 2 stroke. It's running in on 25:1. When the 12 litre external tank runs out I shall consider it run in and use 50:1. So far so good I must say. It pushes my 3.3 metre sib onto the plane and is light enough to carry with one hand. It's also pretty good on fuel. There was plenty left after a 2 hour run yesterday. Its noisy but that's 2 strokes for you.

A make of Imported Outboards which may be worth keeping an eye on is Vector Outboards, Based in the midlands they give a 5 year warrenty and I believe that the engines are based (or copied) from Yamaha.
I would thought point out that if you bought a new Hangkai 6hp Outboard at around £450. it would immediately devalue as if you put it on eBay for sale after using it once you would be lucky to get £300 for it.
However if you bought a second hand 2 or 4 stroke 6 hp Outboard for say £500 you would perhaps find that after a couple of years it would still be what you paid for it,
I have a Tohatsu 6 hp 2 stroke which was supplied new with our boat and is 24 years old and is running perfectly. The biggest problem I find with buying second hand outboards is they are often hundreds of miles away and the sellers are not prepared to get a price from a courier so I recently paid too much for a outboard purely because it was only 20 miles away. (an immaculate Yamaha 4hp 2 stroke at £350. )
