Hanging Lockers

Will be refurbing these soon, was thinking I would just paint them wiith Danboline, but then wondered if it was worth the expense as there are two full height ones.
What have others done by way of painting or lining them to clean and freshen them up?

I'm pretty impressed with Danboline, ok its expensive but it doesn't seem very fussy about what it sticks to. I found it hard to prep some lockers due to rough GRP, inaccessible areas but the finish is really good.

I've used smooth masonry paint. Quick drying plus easy to apply.

Same here, it also dries with impressive speed, even in freezing conditions. I'm an old school cheapskate but tend to stick with Dabolene.

Having removed original coverings I particularly disliked (and were in bad condition) much of my hanging locker was bare GRP inside. I scraped it over with polyester filler, sanded and flowcoated. It was my first attempt at this so was OK, not perfect - by the time I finished the equivalent treatment on the heads I was pretty ok at it. The wood parts I gave lots of lacquer to.

Thanks all, I agree about the properties of danboline, but £100 saved on paint buys a lot of guinness!

A very timely post. I have painted lockers previously with white masonry paint. Its seemed ok but they were fairly out of the way so not top of my beautification projects.

My hanging locker is a smelly cave of unusableness, and has been since I bought the boat. Time to sort it!

Damboline is new to me but I am tempted. Painting with alternatives is such as masonry paint probably need a primer to look decent, don't they? 1L of masonry paint comes in around £25 i guess, plus £15 for the primer. Then I have the hassle of painting, drying, painting (not thst big a deal tho).

Damboline looks like around £25 for 750 ml. No primer required. I think I've just talked myself into giving it a go.

Or maybe Flag Bilge paint. £17 for a litre!
