This Saturday I intend to drive a boat from Walton Bridge and recover it at Sadlers Ride

Is this possible or will the Hampton Head put a stop to it?

Not looking good I'm afraid (unless you time your passage while they're at lunch).

I thought there was an obligation to maintain a navigable channel at all times?

Ah!, but, it's a tribute to the British sense of fair play, and all that innit?
There's didly squat traffic on 't River at this time of the year, so it's not going to cause any real inconvenience to other users is it?
I mean, live and let live old chap.
Best let them take over the whole stream for a couple of hours, then - mebe - they may not do it in the rest of the year (HaHaHa, very droll..).

Perhaps when the retired London Underground takes over, things will be different?

I've had a lucky escape, as we are on the boat this weekend and hosting a 50th bash and should have been passing Hampton tomorrow. My wife meant to book the Anglers in Walton, but got confused and booked the Albany in Thames Ditton! If she'd booked the former it would have meant ramming speed:D.

I hope the wind dies down as for the past few days the Thames has looked like it's flowing in the wrong direction.
