Hamble parking

Hi, I'm planning to pick up a few crew members from the Hamble on Friday evening. I was going to use Hamble Point for a few hours, but I've just realised that they charge an £8 short-stay fee, and (more annoyingly) £10 per day for car parking!

Has anyone got any suggestions for an alternative pick-up point where my crew can leave their cars for free?

Deacons boat yard - Bursledon.

Big further up the river, about 30 mins under motor but could save you a few quid.

IIRC just before Hamble Point Marina there is a patch slightly further upstream - 50 - 100 metres with an old gun and a public car park/picnic spot which was free a couple of years ago - its then a short walk to Hamble or the marina, then a quick drive in and pickup.

I would just drive into Hamble Point Marina as if you are going to visit the bar, chandlers or restaurant
Theres loads of parking available and no one ever asked me for money when i was berthed there or visited

Why not pick up from the Harbour Masters jetty at Warsash? its opposite Hamble Point and benefits from a large free long term car park a short walk away and a free short term car park on the front. The motorway acess is almost as good, just a few wxtra minutes.
