I know most are off to Oostende at half term but it's a bit far for us this year with the little 'un. Anyone interested in a child friendly half term meet on or near the Deben/Ore/Backwaters?
We will be launching Sirenia at Levington some time on the Saturday.
Once we have checked for leaks /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, got the engine going, sorted mast, sails etc., the intention is to head round to Ramsholt for a day or so.
Be happy to meet up somewhere.
Suggest the Rocks on the Sunday.
It is a jolly long row from the Twizzle to The Rocks!

I am sure that George, The HM at Ramsholt, will sort you a mooring for overnight if you ask him nicely.
High tide is about 12:00 on the Sunday.
It is a spring tide so there will not be a lot of beach at lunch time.
No harm in trying some anchoring practice.
There is good holding on the other side of the channel from the beach.
I would be happy to assist you in messing it up.
I am quite good at that myself /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Yes. I was thinking about the Ostend do, but as I shall be single handing with 2 little uns again, the Deben/Ore/Backwaters would be more child friendly.
I agree about the holding on the other side, but it's a muddy place once the tide is out. Some assistance with anchoring would be very much appreciated, there must be a good reason we don't hold!
I've always fancied trying to get up to Snape, would that suit your family/boat Pyro?
If we got to the Ore, I'd recommend a day at Orford to visit the castle and then a day further up at Aldeburgh to go the beach, weather dependant etc. Not a big move from one day to the next, but entertaining the kids is as importanat at sailing for me at this stage.
