Ah the joys of easy reefing of the main witha nice flat result and good tiny flat jib. Can make even strong wind sail into a pleasure (or less terror). Didn't see the hail but I don't think I would like that. In fact I won't sail in anything colder than 25 degrees C but that is because I can be fussy. ol'will

You can have hail also with 30/35degC outside temperature, a big Cb and there you go; though it would melt quicker Lucky you do not get it, a couple of times I had to use a colander over my head.
