Are they those horrid things which live off marine carrion? I remember going out on a fishing boat in the Baltic back in the seventies and some were brought up in a net. They were a greyinsh pink (or pinkish grey) and covered in masses of slug-like slime. Ugh! Posh name is Myxine glutinosa - gives you the general idea. Nasty feeding habits - get in through the handiest orifice then rasp their way out - a bit like a lamprey in reverse.
