Ha’penny Pier

I may have raised our hopes too soon. The missing pontoon is back but now the ramp down to the pontoons appears to be out of position and just laying on the pontoon. If you look here and select the "ha'penny pier right" camera you will see the ramp/walkway horizontal on the pontoon.

Looking at the webcams I can see quite a number of fishing boats and the Harbour Ferry alongside, it must be accessible to some degree, but maybe not for the “General public” ?

There are now yacht and a motorboat alongside, so I guess access must be possible, although the ramp still Appears to be lying on the pontoon.
Watch this space I guess.

Whilst the pontoons are in place, I don't believe there will be access up the ramp until early April, I am a skipper on the Harbour ferry, and we are having to look at an alternative pick up point in Harwich as the service is due to start as from 1 April, and the latest completion date we have is around 3/4 April. Hopefully they can get it sorted earlier.....

Many thanks for that. I do hope you get them to complete the ramp in time for the start of your excellent ferry service.

Looking at the cameras this morning I noticed that part of the view at the bottom of both has been blacked out, thus preventing any view of persons on the quayside. Has someone made a complaint do we know?

I see what you mean.... that's rather crazy. Although you can see heads pop up above the section on the lower left.

There have been a couple of yachts come and go this afternoon :encouragement:

Thanks. That's good and also means the Harwich/Shotley/Felixstow foot ferry can start their service on April 1st.

More likely kids or similar playing up to the cameras and potentially causing embarrasment to the owners

There were a few boats there this afternoon, we nearly popped over but ended picking up a buoy for a picnic instead.

Me and a friend went there on Friday 29th March and there were a lot of workmen doing stuff on the pier. My other comment is that there seems to be far more signs saying what you cant do and where you cant moor than where you can
