Anyone with with experience of (or knowledge about) Guy Couach 730 Fly please chime in. Shaft drive, usually powered by Iveco Aifo or Volvo Penta diesels. Latest production year I came across was 1991.

Thanks.

Where are you based? Because Guy Couach are very popular in France, especially the big ones, indeed it’s probably the cheapest route into large boat ownership here. Unfortunately, I don’t know anymore but I thought I’d get your enquiry back to the top?

I'd rather stay away from the big ones for fear of being asked questions from the tax authorities;) The 24 ft 730 Fly I found (in France indeed), alas a somewhat late discovery, seems to possess all I need for my style of boating. She is comfy enough for an overnight or two (for two), stable enough for extended periods of time at anchor for swimming, sunbathing and having a drink (or two) followed by a siesta. Plus a very agreeable fuel burn from the 130 hp Volvo Penta diesel needing low enough revs for quietly pushing her at my most desirable speed of 12 -14 knots . Plus A FLYBRIDGE, for which I seem to have developed an addiction:mad:

I do hope I'll get some reassuring feedback from present or previous owners regarding the build quality and the possible pitfalls.4d5692d4a1db0a4a78b7407346644162376520b9.jpg

After some tiresome googling I found the French boaters are not so keen on sharing their experience. Perhaps you might be able to prove me wrong being a local;)

They are just reticent, join up and after twenty or thirty years they’ll start talking ??

How many more years have you got before your neighbours even acknowledge your existence? :ROFLMAO:

There’s a difference between ‘not acknowledging’ and ‘not liking’

You mean your French neighbours dont acknowledge your existence but really you know they like you?

I've joined what seems to be the only French boating forum in the hope that someone will acknowledge my existence for my 100th birthday. Which happens to be mere 25 years from now.

You've got a long way to go then. Bouba is 110 yrs old and still his French neighbours dont talk to him:) It might have something to do with the football club he supports though

Deleted User, do I sense something SPECIAL in your relationship with Bouba or am I totally wrong? BTW, I love your avatar. Is the donkey a French or the recent Brexit-British breed?

Bouba and I know each other as we both have our boats in the south of France and we both follow football. Temporarily his team is doing better than mine but this wont last long

And yes that is my British donkey. He used to be a thoroughbred stallion but over the last 5yrs he's turned into an ass :D
