Guy Cotton make a range of waterproof clothing which I believe is used by Fishermen. I understand that it's completely waterproof although it does not have the warmth associated with foul weather gear.
Has anyone had the experience of using Guy Cotton waterproofs for Sailing???

Guy Cotton make a very full range of waterproofs in various formats, including specialist fisherman stuff but also a full yachting range. They do PVC on nylon yachtie gear (100% waterproof with welded seams) in white or yellow and also other ranges more like other manufacturers.

We changed our very heavy 'Southern Ocean' style gear last year to white Guy Cotten sailing version PVC ones. They are very reasonably priced, very tough (the yachtie version is soft/flexible, the fishing one is stiffer) and since they do not have fur lined collars and pockets can be hosed off after a rough sail shaken about a bit and dried very quickly. The downside is slightly more risk of condensation inside but we have found this less of a problem than trying to dry fur collars etc to be able to put them away. If you need more warmth then a towel scarf and gloves do the trick.

We bought ours from Guy Cotten's factory shop in Concarneau (South Brittany), jacket and chest highs together cost around £100 for both and we could have bought cheaper from the sale rail! Otherwise they are sold in some French Chandlers and especially all the 'Co-operative Maritime' outlets in most French Ports.
