BUT IT IS SOOOOO BLOODY SLOW!!!


also will not work through Ice Weasel (aka Firefox...but op version..) ...have had to resort to opening through IE!! Urrgh

Please Tell me its just warm up day and it will get faster!!!

....if not I really will be gutted!

OK, now this has speeded up massively. Also having poked around a bit there seem to be some real improvements.

Read the website feedback forum, and you can see the issues are being worked on. Speed is one of the ones that has specifically been mentioned by mods

Goodness, they've only been up for 8 hours and I reckon it's going very well.
The username issue is one that has been mentioned a lot. There is an announcement about it at the top of each forum.
The speed is pretty slow, but they are working on it.
Give them a chance. It's a huge thing to migrate across. In a few days you'll all be happy as Larry.
Now if I can just find the Insert Image button..........

Give them a chance lads, it's been one heck of a mammoth task to migrate the forum. It involved accounts, account details, avatars, etc, forum structure, forum posts, PMs, etc. I'm delighted they've opted for vBulletin. It's the best of breed and most popular in the BB community.

One suggestion though is they have wasted about 1 inch or horizontal space on the right hand panel (ie avertising pane). It could be trimmed 1" and still fit the adverts on smaller 1024x768 displays. The rightmost inch is blank on all pages.

Good job lads. The migration to vBulletin and MySQL was the big job. Sorting performance or changing to faster hardware platform is trivial compared to that.

I was the op, and I am now a bit embarrassed by the title, as the work that has gone on in the back ground is obviously massive..... sorry, I am one of those users that just want things to work.... anyone who has read any of my previous posts will know I have a bit of a OCD about things not working, whether it be boats or computers!!

If the lounge is not visible, you are probably not logged in. It is not a public forum. But you also need to be logged in to post!!! So not sure how you managed that then!
