Hello to All....
I am new here but I thought I would post some information about a recent issue I had and hopefully the information may help others with the same problem.
I have a Searay 270 Sundancer, which has a Guest M-100 remote spotlight mounted at the bow. The sealed beam lighting unit was broken on the boat and I had a difficult time finding a replacement.
I discovered that the replacement part number had been discontinued and I couldn’t find a replacement.
However, after some research I discovered that the sealed unit is a GE H9405. I eventually found the number printed on the back of the unit.
I then discovered that this is exactly the same unit used in a Jabsco remote spotlight, which does have available spare parts.
I found that ASAP Supplies Ltd (www.asap-supplies.com), stocked the part, a Jabsco spot light unit JAB-18753-0178. After some great help from a guy called Matthew at ASAP, I ordered the replacement part and I am pleased to say that all of my work paid off and it fits perfectly, as it is the same part!
I also had trouble finding out how to take the sealed beam unit out of the spotlight, I couldn’t find the instructions to do this anywhere. So if anyone is also struggling, the molding which surrounds the sealed beam unit, is actually a clip out bezel and behind it are the screws to get the unit out. I took some pictures if anyone needs to see how this works.
I hope this helps anyone struggling with the Guest M-100 spotlight
