Guernsey Marina charges 2024

Are the visitor charges available for yachts visiting before April and post April 2024.

They do not seem to be online.

the whole section is missing on their site so I assume that the controversy has triggered a rethink in the massive increases

Judging by those prices, it seems to me they don't want visitors in the coming years. It wasn't especially busy when I called through last year. Increasing the costs won't help attract more

Odd they quote in boat area per square foot for permanent moorings. And they can't spell "leisure".

All covered in their document Mooring fee increases - 2024 to 2026 - Guernsey Harbours. They compared to other marinas in the channel and found that they were cheaper. Also there has certainly been 17% inflation in the last couple of years so not unreasonable. for a 38 footer it goes from £38 to £44.50 per night which is in line with Solent prices for sure.

I've dried out before. I was assured by my crewmate that the mooring beside his was in 2m of water at low water. At 0200hrs I woke with my face pressed against the hull and the sound of pots and pans falling to the cabin sole!

Oddly, he slept through the whole thing in the forepeak!

With a 1.8m fin keel it is not something I do often.

But you do have a wall to lean against and a few feet of mud to sink in to.

PS and cheap fuel, if you use Red. My memory was wrong about the mud.

Or even better to dry out level on the snd outside ! It is then free.
