Where can I get a listing of the ground types written on the charts.

I can work out most eg fs (fine sand, I think!!) etc.... Therefore a proper listing would be nice.

Thanks

There's an Admiralty publication, which list and shows every symbol and abbreviation used on Admiralty charts.

Get the Admirality publication:

Symbols and Abbreviations

Item Code: 5011

Which provide references to the many symbols and abbreviations on Admiralty charts. Includes topography, hydrography, aids and services.

Symbols are also on the back of some of the sheets of a Small Craft Folio.

But surely you ought to know some of this, you have been doing your non-compusory 'cos you are sensible enough to do it anyway basic shoreside training, thus stopping the jobsworths insisting on compulsory licencing like the chaps the otherside of the Channel.

Aren't you?
