Received this from the Thrible Institute of Technology for Yachting.

"It has recently come to our attention regarding the failure of some Grip Thribley's. After extensive research we have found that a batch from an unknown source and not manufactured by ourselves has been sold under our name.
We urge anyone who has recently purchased a Thribley to contact us at TITY for verification.
We will pursue this matter with utmost vigour".

Ring any bells guys?
You have been warned.

Calling Orion21

Having conned the Soothmoothers, this Grip Thribley fraudster apparently has intentions of trying to take advantage of the good peeps of Orkney and Shetland. Don't lend him any charts.

Not much to go on, but Interpol have circulated the only known photograph (1/20th second, f11, Box Brownie):

Be warned!

I should contact the Snurble Corporation. I believe they have a sizeable Intellectual Property and Patents Department and take stern measures against anyone trying to pass off an inferior copy as a genuine Grip-Thribley.

Re: Airwig

This picture is definitely not of me neither is it of the Good Ship Fairwinds, and anyway the can in question is a well known brand of soft drink.

This matter is being looked into by my legal department. In the meantime, I am delighted to report that the Orcadian authorities are strongly resisting requests for my deportation.

Grip Thribleys of the standard quality and provenance can be purchased as usual though our Cayman Is. branch.
