Grinding noises coming from stern gear...

My shaft driven princess V40 has just been out of the water for a week getting a scrub and paint. Put back in on Saturday - now goes like diarrhea on a stainless steel shovel. However, for a time on Sunday I noticed a low grinding type noise coming from the p-bracket area. No loss of power or vibration - noise comes in at about 1500 rpm and disappears at around 2000 rpm. Advice tells me its just the crap and scale thats fallen around the cutlass bearing and will go away shortly. This sounds plausible. What does the panel think?

My P bracket cutlasses always squeal for a while after the boat has been out of the water a while, it goes away eventually, took two years last time!
