I somehow think that Greta's presence on Vagabonde won't be quite as interesting as Sjana's recent visit...

Harken one touch winch handle. What else were you looking at?

So is that a cutoff low or a closed low off Florida?
They tacked a little while ago, with the 5640m 500mb line looking like staying much further north for a while they might well have a good few days or week coming up.Is anyone tracking them and can do an update ?
Looks like a granny knot on the bight, that could snag on something!I somehow think that Greta's presence on Vagabonde won't be quite as interesting as Sjana's recent visit...

Would you care to give us your ethnicity and self assigned gender, if you would be so kind?
Unfortunately I fear Kukri has formed his rather jaundiced opinion upon reading some rather distasteful and assumptions opinions from the many “ bawbags “ ( what a wonderfully descriptive term ) who poured their venomous tripe in Nandjis “ comments “ before someone’s good taste had them removed . , ( I could even believe that he was one of the milder contributors )
BBegging your pardon Mr Kukri , it was indeed doug748 that the reply should have been addressed to , so please do not form your opinion on his misrepresentation .
Do you think she is on a gap year?Well unlike the scowling Miss Thunburg, Sjana's is laughing & smiling
So far as I can see, Greta Thunberg is doing a wonderful job of promoting our hobby/sport/pastime. I agree with her on the other stuff but I can’t see why anyone would knock her for sailing across the Atlantic.
I think the criticisms are aimed at the grownups who are organising and funding the publicity stunt. Thunberg is not planning the passage or giving it the green light, she's just the clickbait.... I can’t see why anyone would knock her for sailing across the Atlantic.

Would you not agree that this combination of route, timing, boat and crew is a more than usually risky venture?
The crew includes a baby and an unwell teenager. Outremers are great boats ( I have done circa 2000M on a 55) but heavy weather is guaranteed on this crossing in the middle of winter.
To me, it seems an absurd risk to take for basically nothing, except publicity and profit.
