Patio Magic for me because of its easy availability, but its lookalikes would do as well. I generally treat in situ and let the elements wash the mould/algae away, which usually takes a week or two.

Agree. Patio Magic. I use a pump up garden sprayer. Spray on decks, ropes, covers, when they are completely dry and ensure everything is fully dry again before and rain or dew falls.

My decks are green with alge. Will use the jet washer to clean. Sail covers, running rigging are all at home scrubbed and painted with fabsil as appropriate and dried.

How does Patio Magic affect paintwork?
It doesn't.

It is a biocide with a small amount of detergent. It is not either acidic or alkali which makes it safe to use on fabrics.

It may be harmful to pond bound fish but I have never seen any effect on our freshwater dock aquatic residents.
I expect any run off after rain has rinsed it off is well diluted.
Don't be tempted to scrub clean or pressure wash post application.
I spray on neat on a dry day and watch any green algae turn brown and wash off with the next rain.
Best follow up after algae has gone with a second preventative soaking which will guarantee 6 months algae free boating.

There appear to be concerns about its effect on the environment so I would only spray when ashore, and on my patio of course. I find the spray has quite a choking effect, so it needs to be done carefully. I have teak decks and paint it on with a deck brush which has an alternative soft head
