Decks, Ropes, Spray Hood, Mailnsail Stackaway...... all covered in Green Algae. What's best / easiest way to remove it? Patio Magic, Milton, Bleach.........................?
Agree. Patio Magic. I use a pump up garden sprayer. Spray on decks, ropes, covers, when they are completely dry and ensure everything is fully dry again before and rain or dew falls.Patio Magic for me because of its easy availability, but its lookalikes would do as well. I generally treat in situ and let the elements wash the mould/algae away, which usually takes a week or two.
My decks are green with alge. Will use the jet washer to clean. Sail covers, running rigging are all at home scrubbed and painted with fabsil as appropriate and dried.Decks, Ropes, Spray Hood, Mailnsail Stackaway...... all covered in Green Algae. It doesn't.How does Patio Magic affect paintwork?
Be careful with the jet washer. I did that on a friend's boat, and it found some bubbles in the gel coat and blew them open.My decks are green with alge. Will use the jet washer to clean. Sail covers, running rigging are all at home scrubbed and painted with fabsil as appropriate and dried.
There appear to be concerns about its effect on the environment so I would only spray when ashore, and on my patio of course. I find the spray has quite a choking effect, so it needs to be done carefully. I have teak decks and paint it on with a deck brush which has an alternative soft headAgree. Patio Magic.
