Have prices in restaurants/bars gone through the roof this year? Starting to plan next years excitement and wondered if Greece was still worth going to with all the trouble they are in.

You may have a point! but the OP did not ask your opinion did he? he asked about GREECE!Turkey, around Fethiye, Gocek and down to Orhaniye is cheaper and I like that area better than Greece.

Yes, you are quite righr Jimi, Mrs bought a tin of corned beef and a loaf (local shop) it was nearly 8 euros! Of course because we live here we do not use the local shops, we use the supermarkets, Lidyl etc in the capital for half the price. The problem is that visiting yachts do not have a car, so pay through the nose in the local harbour tourist stores, some of them can be a rip off, unfortunately. I am pleased to see the local Tavernas have tried to keep the spiraling costs down, its a case of do or die!I found Greece blinking expensive in the shops when provisioning.
