I suppose similar warning applies with other countries. You call ch16 for help, it ain't like the RNLI.

Not really, you'll probably get a bill for a tow if it is required. I don't think that's the issue in Greece. Stories confirm that your boat is sometimes impounded and held to ransom in cases where no tow/rescue is required. Simply informing the authorities of an minor issue can be enough to trigger draconian action. I doubt the French or Spanish authorities would impound a boat with a fuel blockage or minor electrical issue not requiring any action on their part.
