Lymington Friday night. Isn't the blonde girl in the marina office there quite tasty? Ahem..anyway...great night there and superb early morning fog...got some photos...then off to Poole and it was just so calm.

Quick stop at Studland to meet a mate for couple drinks before the 6.30 bridge. Heard kids on 16 which was really irritating...they were shadowing calls and making a real mess of things..why do people allow their kids to do it?

Today was brilliant too, mill pond on the bournemouth side back to Hamble Point, via Yarmouth. Soon as you hit Hurst Point and the Solent it's back to normal wash and chop...makes me want to go back to Poole big time...Solent was OK but not as calm as the other side of the Hurst..frustrating..

I feel this might be the last of the summer...great weekend!

It was if you were up early enough /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif - just outside Lymington at 8ish this morning:

. . might be the last of the summer . . We got that feeling too, yesterday off Herne Bay I'd never seen so much water traffic. Plenty of activity in Ramsgate on Saturday as well - us hapless fishermen went round Dover way and enjoyed the weather - not that it helped us catch much.

Fantastic weekend.

We did absolutely nothing

Went down to the boat and chilled in the sunshine on the back deck with a couple of good friends and loads of wine.

Had a superb meal at the Cider House on Friday night and then a brilliant Indian Take Away delivered to the boat on Saturday evening just in time for Strictly Come Dancing. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

We were going to refuel the boat but could not be bothered. So those nice people at Chichester Marina are going to do it for us next week /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Drove directly to work this morning feeling brilliant.

What a difference a bit of sunshine makes. Happy Days

Yup, a very pleasant weekend. JezBanks joined me along with another friend of mine and we ended up on the pontoons above Buckler's Hard. BBQed in the evening followed by a few pints in the Master Builder then exploring in the dinghy on Sunday. Finished off with a spot of lunch whilst watching the karma balance being restored for the red cars /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Just what the Doctor ordered.

Briefly saw RogerRat on Saturday (having heard him talking to Fireball on the VHF) as he followed us into the Beaulieu river, but he zipped off down to Totland once he realised we weren't anchoring in the first reach - but going further up.

So thats 3 out of 4 September weekends which turned out to be pretty nice. Can't complain about that!

Yes blonde girl very tasty but had mrs volvopaul with me when I went to pay saturday, we normally go into the town but the trots left we too small for us and the pontoons were taken up by iconsiderate people leaving great big gaps between themselves so we coudnt quite get in one space.

The haven isnt cheap at 36.00 per night tho you did get a free paper from blonde girl.

I was going to post a sign of the times post because at one time you could not get a berth there for years now blonde girl did the sales bit trying to get me as a berth holder for next year, seems there are now loads of empty berths there and the once non refundable 300.00 deposit is now refundable at anytime, how things have changed.

Still Lymington is a beautifull place one of the best but still at a price.

We had a stunning weekend I would say when the sun was at its best the hottest, and a great run back to Shamrock yesterday, we slowed at one point as not to rush back too quickly, or was it that I had just parted with another 650.00 quid to fill the tanks the day before!

Grrr...don't rub it in /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Unexpectedly spent the weekend in hospital following an op I hadn't anticipated. Could only look out of the window and dream of being on the boat. Somehow I knew the last good weekend of the season was passing me by.... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
