Thought I would just drop a note.... Had a great Friday sail up to Fowey yesterday, Not much wind,

Leaving plym saw HMS Argyl coming in PDQ, went to dip our ensign, but she didnt seem to be flying one.

Great sunny run, on the Mixtow ponttoon, excellent meal at Sams, fresh sardines, Mussels, Calamari.

Came back down today 4knts, Got passed by Braveheart of Sark, (A Ct 75) V Posh, waved at us in our little AWB, Felt like a proper boat.

Got down to Rame head and wamo the fog came in, viz about 1/2 cable, got some reassurance from Longroom PC , put plan b into action and snuck in.

Got onto the pontoon first time with a big audience.

Just a great weekend, excitment, sun, posh boats, great food.

How bout anyone else?

[/ QUOTE ] It was probably at the 'at sea position' which will be at the mast head on that ship. They are not very big and because they are close to the funnel they tend to look a bit scabby after a while.

Yes me too, the usual crowded Solent was empty on Thursday sailed from Portsmouth to Yarmouth against the tide but refused to put the engine on took 7 hours with shute up.

Yarmouth half empty dinner in Yacht club as guest and home to Pompy Friday, went home as the crowds arrived for the weekend, can't wait to retire!

We had fog in the Eastern Solent, first time I can remember sailing back to Chi harbour, using the radar to find the beacon!

It was weird as we approached Porstmouth a Condor ferry at anchor at Spithead kept appearing and disappearing in the fog.
