Grand Designs next week

shiplake eyesore

Ahhh got it! Lovely house and yes.... Wondered why that fencing was up between them and the sculptor's place

i bought the house from vince hill . little jazz left 3 months after vince sold the house to us. highlander is my boat and for sure aint rented. unlike the cuffleys we respect the neighbours and the integrity of the neighbourhood. our house is being sympathetically restored, not demolished as some are geussing. how anyone sailing along the river cannot think that that new piece of junk that has gone is anything other than an eyesore is beyond me. its like a helicopter has dropped 2 40foot containers on top of each other. utterly horrifying and, like annie hill, i hope last week it flooded.

Having seen the completed house from the river I think it looks great and not out of place at all its more interesting than the neighbours. Vince's fake huff house looks ok if very conventional, but the 30's wooden bungalow to the right of it needs demolishing and is almost an eyesore. I guess all the house's along there looked out of place when they were first built, but they all become part of the scenary eventually.

fake huff house? the beams that hold it together (i own this house now ) were 200 years old when the house was built in 1920...

I was refering to Vince's new place, nothing too exciting to look at.

Look forward to seeing what you do with Vince's old place, we noticed the windows and doors left open for weeks, did it really smell that bad in there:D

HI. Windows are all currently being changed. the onsite builders and watchmen i got there were born in barns i guess. all the floors and are now out and the dust was unblvable. house was very tired not been renovated for years so it needed doing. we taken out wasp nests that would not fit in a dustbin. enormous things..... its a bit hollow in there at the moment....
