Announced on the Westcountry news this morning that the MOD are trialing GPS signal jamming equipment on the North coast of Cornwall on Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th of June.

On and Off!

It will also affect car satnavs over an area of about 11 sq km although they haven't said where the centre will be yet.

Will the navy be responsible if an accident occurs, or a life is lost due to an ambulance gets lost.
Ambulances in Cornwall cover a huge area and local knowledge cannot be relied on.

An MOD spokesman said all the emergency services which might use the systems have been informed and if an emergency is under way, the MOD can suspend the trial.

The effect will extend for a radius of 11 km (7 miles) which would cover Camborne and Redruth.

I think one map would do it Ken /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wonder what else this will interfere with?

So do they, that's why they are testing it.

Driving past the QinetiQ site on the top of Portsdown Hill (near Portsmouth) can screw up your in-car GPS too. If you're affected, complain to Offcom

At last , someone found the link /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif as if I'd be able to write all that complicated and informative stuff without copy paste /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
