GPS Failure

I have a Magellan Blazer 12, which was last used Nov last year. I have just powered it up with new batteries only to find that it will not lock onto any sats ( I have tried EZstart). Has anybody else experienced this?.

yes.. its to do with the almanac program, mine took ages to unscramble itself this year

So do we just leave them to sort themselves out? Any idea how long it takes (one, two, three sets of batteries...)?

Took mine about 30 mins last week after about 6 months non use. Once it had locked on to three sats it was fine.

I chucked mine when it died only to find on the website an explanation that the internal battery may flatten and fully charged AAs should be inserted to recharge it for 3 days. Pity this wasn't mentioned in the documentation with the unit. The moral - buy Garmin.
