GPS Antenna

Help I have a new Lawrence Elite-5 chirp which as a built in GPS receiver/antenna
It will take a external antenna My question is can i use any aerial or as it got to be the Lawrence LGC-16W GPS antenna
as i have a Garmin GPS antenna fitted to my boat any help please

Best check with Lowrance or Garmin support on the antenna, but I doubt they are compatible.

If your boat is the one in your picture, I very much doubt you need any external antenna at all. The built in one should work fine unless below decks in a steel boat or deep inside a very large (like 100' superyacht) fibreglass one.

yes it is the one in the picture and thank you I have tried it and yes you are right it will not need a external antenna it was just that there is one on my boat.

Is the garmin just a bnc connector?

yes just coax with a BNC on the end
