I have a new Raymarine GPS antenna on my older AIS650. The last antenna packed in. Using the AISPro2 app shows marginal satellite coverage with frequent 'fix lost' event. If I connect the AD510-1, that came with my Iridium GO to the AIS650 the coverage is much better. Any ideas why?
If I swap the antennas.... AD510-1 on the AIS650.... Raymarine antenna on the Iridium GO will that cause any problems?
Does the AD510-1 provide any other function to the I- GO?
Is there an after market antenna that performs as well as the AD510-1 that will work with the AIS650?
Is it likely that there is something wrong with the AIS650?
