Then this might be for you

She is quite beautiful macanderson. She was anchored there (off st Jean) yesterday afternoon, a couple of hundred metres from us and Portofino. I have a bit of quadcopter of her. I think she has been around for a couple of years and I've seen her in N Corsica I think. I've forgotten her name!

Asking price is a bit too punchy imho

my brother and I were looking at this Moonen during the weekend
LOL, how long ago did I tell you that seeing the light and going for a displacement vessel was not a matter of IF, but just of WHEN!
Btw, in this case, "see the light" is appropriate in more ways than one - you know what her (Italian) name means, dontcha? :D

Just wifi ed on .
Pleasure to meet up Sunday JFM ,- bit like ships passing in the dark .
Crikey that's a lot of $ for what it is -no sunroof or outside helm kinda green house in the summer -it's someone's pride and joy .
-We overnighted next to them ,they had a little jack Russell yapping away from 8am .

Theres a lot of new unsold -show cast offs in our marina and out and about .
Also saw loads of classic old sailing yachts in full canvas yesterday with dozens of crew training in the bay of Cannes .

Got the literal translation 'to make nothing' but I guess this is an idiom that isn't a direct translation??

I don't think we're buying the moonen right now but it does make you think. She is a very fine ship indeed. I expect under 24m LLL from looking at her lines but I have not checked and would need to obviously. I think the name means "do nothing" - she is quite a well known boat and that's what I've always been told. She can do transat, and has done. While she is a fine vessel, there are high operating costs. She is steel and a repaint every 5 years or whatever involves writing a very big cheque, just for starters. Portofino she has a flybridge helm, fly-to-lower helm staircase, and loads of external space. Could do with a HT but that is a minor detail

Literally, that's correct.
But I believe it's actually the short version of a more typical/idiomatic IT expression, which is "dolce far niente".
Something that translates as "pleasant relaxation in carefree idleness", according to M-W...

Re. paint, I'd expect a proper job to last for at least 10, rather than just 5 years!
Otoh, I agree that an HT would look gorgeous on her.
Coming to think of it, the vessel lines and proportions are also great for a fully enclosed RPH, imho.

.

Which would translate as 'Can't be arsed' in English vernacular which wouldn't look good as a boat name.

I think Mapis you should wave a bit the Italian flag a bit more. If someone wants a serious smallish pocket super yacht full displacement I would certainly give my preference atm to Cantiere delle Marche.

Both its lines Darwin and Nauta are just pure class and in this size (may be not only) above the rest, not only in looks but also in building standards as far I am concerned. But anyways waiting is a big issue with CdM since they are already full till 2018.

Here you are Poweryachtblog :D. Taken about a month ago, off SE coast of Mallorca. I don't like the tugboat bow (the bulwark bit) on this particular CdM but in general they are nice ships.

Ok throwing a StB here but I think that is a Cantieri di Pesaro 82 Naumochos more then a CdM Darwin 86, hence the more traditional tug bow and bulwark.

Cantieri di Pesaro is in reality the forefather of CdM, since the yard owner is basically the same.

LOL, believe it or not, while reading you post (but before reading jfm reply!) I was already thinking to answer that you don't know him well enough, to suggest a tug-like boat, which no matter how well built can be, doesn't hold a candle to the Moonen in terms of elegance, if we're honest.
The Nauta series could well be another matter altogether, but have you seen one yet?
