We have just had one of the best chinese takeaways we can remember.

I thoroughly recommending ''The Golden Pot'' which is just past the F & C Shop along the front

When it opened last year we were non to impressed, but since then it has changed hands,
and is now IMO excellent. As good as any posh sit down place and v competitive prices.

The chef is not your average chokie dressed in T-shirt & jeans. Oh no. This one dresses in full chefs uniform including hat. Sets a good standard & his food shows it. No MSG either.
A chef as good as him does not need it. And you get service with a smile from the charming young Chinese girl on the counter. Order by phone on 023 9258 2525 to save any wait as they are building up a good trade.

Enjoy.

The one above the chip shop is The Great Wall. Changed hands some time ago and is now without doubt the best sit down in town.

Yes the one I refer to is a new take-away. Opened last summer.

Half way betwix us David lol

Sounds great but not sure which one you are referring to? We are coming from Haslar side so is it this side or t'other??

From Haslar, its this side of the F+C chop ( on your left as you cross the pedestrian crossing, if you are coming from the top of the ferry pontoon ).

Last Chinese we had in Gosport when we moored there about 4/5 years ago was brilliant.

All you could eat for about £15.00 a head. It was in an upstairs restaurant somewhere near the Portsmouth Ferry Terminal if I remember correctly.

We were a bit restricted as we don't eat meat but it was still excellent

You are describing "The Great Wall". :)

When I walked by a couple of weeks ago there was a notice in the window saying that they had gone into liquidation or some such thing.
