What I want to know is why there is such a big difference in council tax banding between top and bottom bands.We get the same service regardless and point about ability to pay is shameless.
I challenged the council tax officials about the 7% year on year rises. They explained that they get less government funding. So I said, "you knew that though, it happens every year. Surely you need to spend less and become more efficient, then next years increase could be anticipated and be of a more sensible level".
"Oh no we cant do that because if we did that we would get even less money next year"
"So what your saying is becoming more efficient and finding ways to reduce costs doesnt pay and is not promoted in the council"
At this point they went silent for few seconds, then I was blown away
"No it is not promoted we must spend all of the budgets".
"So is that why I see the gritters out in June then"
"Yes"
And we are i*iots paying this service!
In this country were are too soft, if you cant be bothered to work hard, you get looked after from cradle to grave. If you do work hard you get taxed to the hilt to pay for the lazy good for nothings.
