I heard Santa may be giving me a GoPro 7 Hero 7 black for Christmas. Can anyone recommend some must have accessories particularly related to using it on a boat. Many thanks,

Search YouTube.

There are hundreds of videos on the subject

Some way of equipping the camera with a standard 1/4 tripod adaptor. A number of ways you can do it depending on model: via a GoPro option, frame or waterproof housing, or a third party offering, or by modifying something bought in, like a selfie stick.

Of course Go Pro would rather you did not do this because you are then able to use any standard camera steady which are available very cheaply. A standard tripod (available at charity shops for a tenner) is a very useful thing for any boat work, infinitely adjustable, stable, easy to lash in position, relatively heavy (good thing) and with a pretty long reach to use as a stick.

Sounds like it‘s being bought for you, lucky chap, but for others interested I bought the cheaper OSMO Action which has exactly the same fittings. It’s been great, watch the link for results.
The images look great, where in the Costa Brava are you?

Oh an opportunity for me to bring out my well worn cruising ground. The area is called Cap de Creus and I‘m in Empuriabrava just south out of the picture.
I hope you didn’t waste too much of your life flogging through to the end of the video..

I know the area quite well, not through boating unfortunately but my sister lives out there. We'll often go to Empuriabrava where I can get a boaty fix. It seems like a great place to keep your boat.
