One of next years projects is to clean up the bilges.
This involves a fair amount of work on the wrought iron floors. Problem is that I would like to get under the 2GM20 engine to deal with frames, floors, mounts etc. I also want to service/replace the two Blakes cockpit drain seacocks.
So, I am looking for somewhere to lift out and have the propshaft pulled, engine disconnected, lifted and put ashore for couple of weeks whilst I do the work, then engine returned to my immaculate engine bay, re-connected and ready to go.
Any suggestions for a good yard (anywhere between the Blackwater and Lowestoft) with a competent, reliable, trustworthy and good value engineer to do this work?
If anybody has gone down this route before, a ball park figure of cost of the engineering work (excluding lift out, storage etc) would be much appreciated.
TIA
