Good Value Boat heaters

What do you want me to say ?

Perhaps that you trashed the EU saying that the 66 million fine meant nothing in your view
and then in the same post you quoted the CE mark which is an EU standard so upholding what they say

So in simple terms.

One line …………….. Cant trust the EU

Second line ………...We must do as they say:redface-new:

I started this thread and battled through countless stupid posts many from you. I proved my point but still you thump on.... Know when you have been proved wrong.

You say the EU is corrupt but the CE mark is good...… Are you aware that the CE mark is an EU thing...…….. So which is it.

It was not the EU that was corrupt is was E and W and if you read the post in this thread you would have seen that they admitted it and avoided a 222 million fine

When in a hole stop digging

How do you know that the CE mark is genuine surely it can't be if they do not supply intructions

Just to be clear I received a user manual on operation. I did not receive an installation manual. Personally I do not find that odd as when I buy a car for instance I get a user manual. I dont automatically get a workshop manual. I dont know why people are harping on that fact.

Has anybody actually asked their insurers if they are happy to cover vehicles floaty or otherwise fitted with these heaters ?

Yes, the magazine Motorboat Owner asked an insurance company for their opinion. Didnt appear to be a problem.

How can they be imported without and presumably no vat Don't tell Trading Standards then or VAT man!

Are you for real...…… Have you never bought a Chinese product from ebay

For you information Amazon doesn't just sell books you know and England won the World Cup in 1966

So they were asked the specific question & made aware the item is not CE marked & therefore not a legal import.

The world is full of things that are illegal in some way that does not imply that insurances will be invalid...…. You need to read the insurance wording

That's all bit unnecessary . You are a mine of information but if you cannot answer a question please don't try to be a smart ass.

I agree that was a little harsh on my part... I was not having a good day.

I am just amazed that it seems that some people have perhaps had so little exposure to Ebay and how it works

Finally fitted mine in the boat today. It went well and I am pleased with the end result. Nice and cosy in the 'tent' now

Initially I had a little smell coming from the heater duct... It was not exhaust or fuel it was more of a plastic type smell..... Went to the boat again today and fired it up with her indoors along and she was very pleased with the cosiness of the upper cabin/tent on a horrible windy and wet day.

I am also pleased to report that the smell had gone... I think it was just a new smell similar to that you sometimes get from new fan heaters etc.

For those that are interested here are a few pics of my install. The fuel tank is a small 5 ltr job in the locker with the heater. It only took about 15 mins to warn the tent today so 5 ltr will be ok for our usage. I will top up from my heating oil tank via cans from home

I ha to replace my very old and very bIg battery charger on the S24. The new one of course was about 1/3 the size and this opened up some space so that I have now managed to get a 50 mm dia duct into the cabin of the boat.

All is working fine and I am very pleased.

Now that is has been a while I am wondering how others who bought them feel theirs are working

Bought two, had to change the glowplug on one after a months use (£10.70) and no other problems.
I bought a glowplug and fuel pump (£13.96) to keep as spares, at those prices.......
