Good Value Boat heaters

Perhaps not such a hard competition for the Chinese then ?

According to the Royal Mail tracking number I should receive my heater tomorrow, but Royal Mail website doesn't recognise the tracking number.

So will it or won't it arrive tomorrow ?

Excited - not really as I won't be going to the office to receive until Thursday.

There's usually a lag with RM tracking numbers, between their allocation and their visibility on the RM website. Try again after 12-24 hours and if it is valid it should show up.

Nope - this is a UK EBAY seller, claiming UK stock. If the delivery agents want any extra upon delivery it will be refused and I will put in a PayPal dispute for a refund.

So not such a bargain if you have to cough up the VAT ? Some people just don’t appreciate a bargain.

Just to elaborate friend bought heater off ebay with item location Manchester but they order them from China via airmail hence the 10 day delivery date,if they are coming from this country delivery is usually less than a week,he had to pay £20+ when he picked it up from sorting office.

Did you say you run a business. The addition of VAT to £117 makes it £140.40...……… Is that still a bargain against about £1200.00...……. Apply your business mind and you decide

Come on, lighten up..... am only jokin...dont take it all too seriously

I did order on of these " Good value heaters", it arrived today. Despite it being suggested as UK stock, it was delivered from China, and did take three weeks longer than the quoted date. I did not have to pay VAT or duty on the product. Out of the box it looks good, complete with all components. The so-called exhaust silencer is useless, as suggested above, no need to pressure test to know it would leak exhaust fumes. I shall bench test the heater soon before installation, and report here my findings.

Seems a bit hit or miss whether you get charged vat on these heaters.

That is the case with all stuff bought via ebay or similar from China...…… My experience (of hundreds of items bought in this way) is you seldom get billed for it or the other costs that could be applicable

I think that is the case with mine as it has not been delivered yet...… Still no hurry. I am sure Santa has many other parcels to worry about

I have set up this 5 kw heater today, without attempting to manually access the entire selection of the programmer, I simply pressed "on". After 2-3 minutes of fuel priming, the unit produced very good heat, with acceptable low noise from fan pump and exhaust. After running for 1.5 hours, by holding the "on" the unit will shut down via its pre programmed sequence, the exhaust gas was clean throughout the running time.

Another night on the boat, another night of temperatures hovering around 0 degC and another night of faultless toasty warmth from the chinaspacher.
