Well, its a Hurth HBW 125 -2R (new version of the Hurth HBW 10 -2R)

So a pretty common gearbox.

I'm coming round to thinking that this is the way forward, but need to speak to the engineer first thing in the morning....

five hundred for a new gear box does not sound too bad,whats the estimate on Labour? is it a sod to fit?

Yep..... I reckon it'll be 12 to 15hrs in total.... so thats another £600..... add 2 weeks mooring at £130 p/w..... ouch.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anyway..... back to the subject....

I was going to have the clutch plate replaced while I was at it... seemed sensible given the gearbox is off....

But...

The replacement clutch plate is over £200....... TWO HUNDRED BLUMMIN QUID!!!!!!.... they're having a bleedin larf aint they?

The old clutch is staying in....

neil if the clutchplate is well worn it may be the better tactic to replace it,can you check the plate before they start?

Its not very worn.... and no dust in the bell housing..... its OK, i'm pretty sure of that.

Hoorah..... gearbox all in and working as required.... boat ready to be fetched home....

Couple of last minute glitches that nearly mucked it all up, including the rope cutter nearly requiring a lift out, and the heat exchanger being tired.... but all overcome...

Now we watch the weekend weather.... looks rubbish!
