Can anyone point me towards suppliers for preserved/dried/smoked food that will keep for two months or so without refridgeration in warm (I hope!) summer temps.
Not the ruffty-tufty packets of freeze dried racing fuel. Weight is not an issue, taste is. Stuff like bacon, dried sausage, beef jerky and so forth. Even good tinned food will help, as long as it is good,,,,,,,,,
I'll be taking some fresh food, meat and veg should last a week, spuds and onions keep fine if chosen well I know, but real keeping bacon is hard to find.
Tasty stuff is about for sure, but curers and smokers go for the 'added value foodie' market not really the old boat/hungry Yottie niche.,,,,,,, oh yes, anyone know if tinned butter is still around?
