I'll be turning over the engine for the first time in a while, and will check the stern glands (stuffing box) with a view to adding some packing if it looks neccessary.
Been getting a lot of advice on this - including some excellent tips here.
One thing someone has just suggested is getting new bilge pumps. The old ones work perfectly well, but they are... rather old.
Any suggestions? And is it better to have pumps with internal float switches? The current arrangement has external ones.
