Delivered Slippy to Ullswater this morning. I thought I'd have a bit of excitiement and took her (it) over the Kirkstone Pass. But it was uneventful except one moment of concern during which
I had to put the heater on as it got quite chilly.

And can I preempt the experts before the photos are posted,I think the outboard is a bit too deep in the water for efficient propulsion.
 
I've been spending quite a bit of time on Ullswater since the speed limit (Less wardens /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif).

Where is she going to be living and I will keep an eye out for her.
 
Slippy (providing he keeps the name) will be moored at Eusmere which is the most northerly mooring site. There is a derilect stone-built building on the shore a couple of hundred yards south of the hire boats and the new mooring is a tad south of that.
The bloke's called Mike if you see him. A Geordie who lives in the IoM.

Young bloke, sailed and dived all over the place (S Pacific, I think), no engine wooden sailboat. Last I heard, he was with a partner, still sailing, but that was golly, probably 15 years ago.

I think I'm still a sailor though.

I am kind of sad to sell Slippy, but less than 50% of trips were succesful sails and the rest were aimless drifting about with flapping sails, so we weren't getting the best out of her (there, I've given it a gender). This way we'll have a reliable (hopefully) reason to be out on the water, and I'm still going to go ahead with my mini trimaran project.

Upward and onward.
