Going Rate for a new Sprayhood

My sprayhood stays up all the time, and is now over 20 years old. The acrylic canvas is still sound, but during its life it's had 3 re-stitches, (another due soon, I fear!) and one new window. I paid £50 for each restitch, and £80 for restitch plus new window. Best to get this sort of job done in the winter while your friendly local sailmaker is less busy.

Used to design and fit canopies for years and it was a nice feeling when the first fit was perfect, but if it wasnt I preferred to take back and tweek to make the second fit perfect. Better than just leaving it and saying that will do.

I took my old one apart (Beneteau First 285) Bought some material and vinyl and took it to the local upholsterer/seamstress. She made a perfect copy for £100 and I fitted the press studs etc. myself - that was 5 years ago

Have just made a replacement for my own (32'), although a little smaller than the norm and having no window due to the presence of a fixed windscreen - cost of materials £43 + £7 for press studs etc.

That sounds very reasonable & viable.
I'm thinking maybe I could use the old one to recreate one in fibreglass as it stays up permanently.Might be the opportunity to start up a business

Absolutely. I particularly hate studs or liftthedots aft of the base feet. They always cause problems, either while new or as the hood settles in. Never a good idea. I never use them on new hoods. Always hooks and shock cord unless the client is silly enough to insist, which is happily very very rare.
