Im looking at changing my boat and would like any comments or thoughts on the gobbi 315sc from any owners or ex owners or anybody in the know, all the usual what to look for etc, thanks in advance.
It's a little bit unique in it's styling so you need to be clear in your mind what you want to do with it. As far as I know it is the longest boat without a forward cabin much of the length is taken up with the outside cabin and that is what I wanted. I didn't want a boat to sleep on I wanted a day boat to lounge around in the sun and the rear sun pad and uppy downy seat back is perfect for that.
Build quality is good, I've seen better but not at a comparable price, I've seen worse on more expensive boats.
I get over 40mph out of it so if you want speed it's got it. I was looking at getting a bigger boat but I took a step back and thought why am I bothering, there is nothing wrong with the boat I've got, it does everything I want it to do.
Thanks for the reply i do like the look of the cockpit layout as you say a bit unique and not everybodies cup of tea.Have you had any problems with it or anything in particular to look out for.
thanks
bought one late 2001 kept it till early 2004 used mainly as a lake boat on the shannon and in coastal waters.
fitted bennett computerised trim tabs - essential in my opinion.
she loved a chop absolutely sang on the water in a one to two foot. Not happy in the steep short Atlantic swells, not heavy enough ( about 5 tonnes) to keep the speed up normally had to drop to 8-9kn in those conditions if not able to run in the valleys. Build quality excellent - so good i stayed with the builder for my subsequent boat
had a 27 Sport for 14 years sold in June and just purchased a 335 SC
build quality is very good, seakeeping with the 27 Sport was excellent,
the 335 SC I had just been in Force 5, 2 metres short strange waves following in the Ionian, but was ok at 25 knots with them
I looked at a 315 and loved it but ended up buying a 345 sc which IMHO is outstanding. Done 100 hours since buying a little over a year ago and not given me any problems. |Highly recommend.
The 315 I looked at is still for sale but at a much reduced price £62,000 I think which must be good value ad 41's i think and it was in very good condition. Its with Norwich boat sales or norfolk boat sales something like that. Well worth a look and I found the broker very helpful.

No problems really. The sensor on the holding tanks buzzes when it is not full and the wiper played up a bit but seems OK now. The stitching on the canopy by the door zip came off and has had to put back on with safety pins. So nothing serious
Can't think of anything you should look out for.
The only snag is, and I went in to it with my eyes open, the received wisdom is that you should always buy fairlines or sealines because they are easy to re-sell because they are british and popular. But I would rather have the boat I want and accept I may find it difficult to find a buyer in due course.

Is this the one at Davis's Yard, Cobbs, If so,rather nice,i've had a quick nose around on it and looks ok to me. Yes, a nice big spacious cockpit layout.
