Yes, connected wirelessly to my Hudl and then by hdmi to entry level LG FHD TV (v. highly recommended btw).
As regards low light levels, it copes well in low outdoor light but doubt inside a nest box. Maybe you could look at Techmoan's youtube channel where he recently reviewed a wireless cctv camera which had good imaging. You could make a hole in the nest box and poke the lens & it's IR lights through - then you could fill in darkness. These cameras have motion activated function so you could just leave it going and it would start start to film when the parents flew in or when the eggs hatched. Tempted to get one myself and give it a try
Please do try it out! My current box has IR illumination for night use and a (translucent) window for daylight. But I have been doing this for years. For low-res early stuff see http://www.mjcoon.plus.com/nest%20box%20drama.htm.
I currently use a PC for capture which provides the motion sensing and can include a few seconds before the trigger.
And I should have asked my nephew more about his GoPro because I bought him a Smatree battery pack for Christmas!

Yes, I am fairly sure I can persuade swmbo to invest in one of these cctv cameras (<£50) as she is quite keen on our feathered friends.
The price is one of the key attractions of these imaging systems as they come virtually direct from the factory in China. Had a chuckle to myself this afternoon when I get realised that the little case of gadget porn I posted a picture of a few posts back actually cost about 1.5% of what I paid for my Nikon camera body and glass !!!

Do the SJCAM cameras offer 25 or 50 fps? I have a use for a camera like that, but 30 or 60 is useless to me due to the lighting..

Unfortunately not that I am aware of. The latest model SJ5000 wifi is 1080p 30fps and the SJ5000+ is 1080p 60fps & higher fps/lower res but always in multiples of 30.

Is that OK because modern TVs can adjust to cope, or do you get a Keystone Cops (or Benny Hill) effect?

sj4000 only does 30fps. It offers 60fps, but it simply repeats the same frame twice - see the youtube review in the OP. He explains it better.
Strangely, I am finding the fake of the sj4000 better in some ways than the real camera with sj4000 printed on it.
That is, wifi is a lot better. The range of the sj4000 real version is approx 10m or less for me, but others seem to be getting better results.
The fake wifi range is better but the fish lens is wider; that could be good or bad.
I am glad I have two (took 4 months to get them though). Big fish eye lens on transom of dinghy, and proper sj4000 on mast looking aft.

Your TV will probably adapt OK, Youtube certainly will.
BUT if you shoot under mains powered artificial lighting, you'll get a "lighting ripple" as the shutter is open for a different bit of the sine wave each time.

Which is related to why, back in the days when TVs had valves in, the scan rate was not merely 50Hz but also phase locked to the mains. This prevented small variations in brightness caused by (electrical) hum travelling up or down the screen. So long as they kept still they were not noticeable!

There is a setting in 'System' on the SJ5000 wifi for either 50hz or 60hz. Not entirely sure what it does but maybe related to the TV out function and it also has a Pal/Secam option.

Apologies for resurrecting this thread, doesn't warrant starting a new one though so...middle daughter wants a Go Pro 3+ for her birthday. She's been told in store that anything short of this isn't worth getting. Views before I place the order please. She's found it on amazon for just over £200. Many thanks in advance

I can't comment on quality of sj4000 -vs- GoPro as I don't have a GoPro; hopefully someone else can comment, but would your daughter be disappointed if she received a £50 camera instead of a £200? Or is she more sensible than many people? (assuming quality is like-for-like with the cameras).
I think technomoan review chap only compared the cheapest GoPro to the sj4000, so perhaps the GoPro 3 is a lot better?
