To answer a few points, we used a thermostatically controlled oil cooler, nothing trick, just sufficient to cool the oil and with the correct temperature thermostat fitted. Injectors were made specially for the unit, as were many other things, and the pistons had their pins machined to lower them in the bore slightly, and their tops reshaped.

Let me reitterate its use, it was a one off for automotive use, not industrially rated.
